Who we are

JK Pools and Spa is run by Jeff Kingdon, who has been maintaining, cleaning and repairing residential pools in the Lower Mainland for more than 20 years. It is a small operation on purpose: the person who quotes your job is the person who does it.

Most of the business is weekly maintenance on a routed schedule, with repair and remodeling work taken on alongside. We are not a franchise and we do not subcontract the routes, so the person who cleans your pool this week is the person who will be back next week.

Where we work

We run routed service across four cities in the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver:

• Surrey, BC — our base, on 18 Ave
• Langley, BC
• Maple Ridge, BC
• White Rock, BC

Just outside those areas, call us anyway. We will tell you straight whether we can reach you or whether you would be better served by someone closer.

What we actually do

Six services, and they are listed in full on the services page: weekly maintenance, repair, remodeling, inspections, new pool setup, and products and supplies. We also look after hot tubs and swim spas.

How we work

A few things that are true of how we operate, and that you are entitled to hold us to:

• We test the water rather than guessing. pH, free chlorine, alkalinity and calcium hardness every visit, because water that will not hold its balance is a maintenance problem that shows up as a chemistry problem.
• We service through winter. A pool left alone through a wet Lower Mainland winter is where the cracks and the leaks and the equipment failures start. Our routes run year-round.
• We will tell you not to spend the money. If a pump is at the end of its life, we will say that rather than sell you a repair that buys you a season.
• We quote honestly. If a remodel will not fix the underlying problem, we say so before you spend on a cosmetic fix.
