What we do

JK Pools and Spa maintains, cleans, repairs and remodels residential pools across Surrey, Langley, Maple Ridge and White Rock. Most clients start with one of the six services below, and most stay on a weekly route afterwards, because a pool that is looked after weekly is a fraction of the work of one that has been left. Owner Jeff Kingdon has been doing this for more than 20 years.

Weekly pool maintenance

The service most pools are on. We skim the surface, brush the walls and waterline tile, vacuum the floor, test and balance the water, and service the filter every week. It runs year-round rather than stopping in October, because a pool left through a wet Lower Mainland winter is where most of the expensive problems start. Read more about weekly maintenance.

Pool repair

Pumps, heaters, filters, plumbing and leaks. We will tell you honestly whether something is worth repairing or whether you are about to spend good money on equipment that was going to fail anyway, and we do not quote a repair we would not recommend. Read more about pool repair.

Remodeling and resurfacing

Resurfacing with plaster, aggregate or epoxy paint, liner replacement, and equipment upgrades done while we are already on site. If a pool is structurally compromised or badly laid out, we will say so before you spend money on a cosmetic fix. Read more about remodeling.

Pool inspections

A written report covering water chemistry, filtration, equipment condition and age, water level, leaks, and safety equipment. Worth booking before you buy a house with a pool, before starting up a pool that has been closed, and once a year as a general check. Read more about inspections.

New pool setup and start-up

Start-up after construction, and taking over a pool from a previous owner. This is where it pays to plan the equipment and the water depth properly, because those are the decisions that are expensive to change later. Read more about new pools.

Products and supplies

Sanitizers, balancing chemicals, filter media, and the parts that are always needed at the wrong time. Read more about products and supplies.

Hot tubs and spas

We service hot tubs and swim spas, including water chemistry, covers and filters. Spas need more attention than most people expect, because the water is hot and the volume is small, so the chemistry moves quickly. Read the seasonal spa guide.
